What is ChatGPT Atlas?
Atlas is OpenAI’s browser agent feature built into ChatGPT. It lets ChatGPT interact with web pages on your behalf — clicking, scrolling, and filling forms.
How dassi is different
dassi is a standalone browser agent that works with any AI model. Instead of being locked into one provider, you choose the model that works best for each task.
Model flexibility
Atlas only works with OpenAI’s models. dassi connects to Claude, GPT, Gemini, and more — all from the same extension. If a new model launches tomorrow, dassi supports it.
Pricing
Atlas requires a ChatGPT Plus subscription at minimum ($20/month). dassi’s BYOK plan is $10/month — bring your own API key and pay your AI provider directly for usage.
Skills and scheduling
dassi lets you save any workflow as a Skill and schedule it to run automatically. Atlas doesn’t offer standalone workflow scheduling outside of ChatGPT’s interface.
When to choose Atlas
If you’re okay with Atlas’s basic browser automation features and willing to use it within ChatGPT’s interface — which runs its own browser session rather than your existing one — Atlas is a fine choice. It’s bundled free with ChatGPT Plus, so there’s no extra cost if you’re already a subscriber.
When to choose dassi
If you’d rather stay in your existing browser — Chrome, Edge, or any Chromium-based browser — dassi runs as a stable extension right where you already work. No switching to an unfamiliar browser environment. Plus you get model flexibility, lower cost, and the ability to save and schedule workflows.
